Why Xiaomi Mobiles Banned in India?
In an interim order Delhi High Court imposes a ban on Xiaomi mobiles as well as e-commerce site Flipkart from importing, advertising and selling mobile handsets in India. Flipkart is the official and exclusive seller of Xiaomi smartphones in India, so the Court has stopped Flipkart from importing and selling Xiaomi phones in an interim order yesterday. Now the obvious question arises, Why Xiaomi mobile banned in India, what are the reasons behind this ban on Xiaomi? According to a PTI report, The Chinese mobile company Xiaomi that runs on the technology patented by Ericsson has been restrained from selling phones in India for the time being.

What is the Xiaomi-Ericsson Patent Case
Ericsson has sued Xiaomi for infringement of Standard Essential Patents (SEP). Meanwhile Ericsson have not said anything on the matter yet.
The Xiaomi-Ericsson patent case is said to have belonged to an infringement of Ericsson's patent for which Ericsson had to charge Xiaomi a reasonable fee to license them. Xiaomi had infringed Ericsson's standard essential patents, so Ericsson had tried to contact the Chinese mobile company many times but were ignored by Xiaomi. The Delhi High Court also restrained Xiaomi from making, assembling, importing or offering for sale of handsets which are infringing the mobile phone technology patented by Ericsson.
Now what will be the Future of Xiaomi in India
The Court has stoped Xiaomi for importing and selling in India, However, it is not clear if the company will continue selling its Redmi 1S and Redmi Note that are currently up on Flipkart for sale. According to the report by NDTV, Xiaomi's India head Manu Kumar Jain said, "While we haven't received an official notice from the Delhi High Court, our legal team is currently evaluating the situation based on the information we have. India is a very important market for Xiaomi and we will respond promptly as needed and in full compliance with Indian laws. Moreover, we are open to working with Ericsson to resolve this matter amicably".
Recently they have lauched Redmi Note, suceessor of redmi 1s in its 3G varrient, and planing to launch 4G model with airtel in December last 2014. Xiaomi phone's are sold out within seconds on thier marketing online partner Flipkart, meaning is very clear, they are having strongly demanded in India. All of its models are sucessfully selling in Indian market.
After this incident now the speculation about the future of Chinese company in India taking place in everyone's mind. So far, Xiaomi has sold over 800,000 handsets of Redmi 1S and Xiaomi Mi3 combined, and 125,000 handsets of Xiaomi Redmi Note until now in India through flash sale on Flipkart, and they are all set to launch Xiaomi Mi4 in India from January 2015.
Xiaomi is facing so many chalanges in India since long time, There was the Indian Air Force controversy and now the Ericsson patent law suit against him.
What will be the Conclusion according to me
In my view, this is a case of patent infringement, so required reasonable money will soon be paid by xiaomi to Ericsson and everything will be on okay.
Everyone admits that, no other company can provide such low cost and better quality devices and if you ar using a android smartphone, then you are smart enough to understand that every company is shaving your personal data to their servers, and even google shares your data to the server located in its datacenter when you link your android phone with google account, you automatically choose to do so, simillarly xiaomi has a service called Mi cloud which stores your data in highly encrypted form which can always be opted-out if you dont want to use. So according to me, something is smeling fishy for Xiaomi in Indian market.
