A.R. Rahman is in the Oscar race once again for the original score at the 87th Academy Awards:
It is to be noted that A.R.Rahman had earlier won the Oscars in the same category for his original score in "Slumdog Millionaire". Now he is in contention for Oscar once again. Oscar contention for nomination list was announced yesterday. A.R. Rahman is in the Oscar race once again for the original score at the 87th Academy Awards. The list includes 114 scores from eligible feature-length motion pictures released in 2014 are in contention for nominations in the Original Score category for the 87th Oscars.
The 87th Academy Awards final nominations will be announced live on Thursday, January 15, 2015 and the Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015.

Rahman is in the Oscar race once again and he has provided once again a proud moment for India as well as for Indian cinema. 2014 has proved to be a successful year for AR Rahman, as the albums composed by him were chartbusters and the composer was able to give his best. Now, the year-end has given him yet another reason to celebrate. If Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan gets into the final nomination's list, then this will be the very first Indian movie ever nominated for Oscars in Original score category.
