Ocean Spiral: Japan Planning to Build City Under Sea

Ocean Spiral: Shimizu Corporation Plans Underwater City

Japanese construction company Shimizu Corporation has unveiled its template for modern-day cities in the ocean — Ocean Spiral. The Ocean Spiral project visualizes using huge spirals to connect to each water tight residential sphere to the ocean floor, where it will create power in the form of methane-producing micro-organism factories. Generators would generate electricity by taking the incremental difference in the temperature of sea water at varying depths, while undersea docking facilities would enable supplies to be delivered and research to be conducted.

A mockup of ocean spiral Shimizu corporation

Shimizu has been working on the project with the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology and Tokyo University and thinks it will take five years to shape the first unit.

Shimizu has a standing for blue-sky thinking in a country in which construction firms are usually conservative in their approaches to projects.

Ocean Spiral under the sea Shimuzu Corporation

Previously, Shimizu has offered creating a 250-mile wide “belt” of solar panels around the Moon that would gather and relays a constant supply of energy to “receiving stations” on Earth by way of lasers or microwave transmission.

Shimizu Corporation‘s Ocean Spiral will take about five years to complete, cost approximately £17 million and People as much as 5,000 would live in a sealed transparent ball at the top of the spiral. It would generally sit above the surface to take advantage of sunlight. Engineers at the company believe that the technology to build the city will be available in around 15 years’ time.

Shimizu spokesman Hideo Imamura told the Guardian: “This is a real goal, this is not a pipe dream.” The corporation is not definitely not short on ambition: a glance at their “dreampage” of “proposals to benefit future generations” reveals plans to construct floating cities, a space hotel and a ring around the moon.

So, what do you think about how crazy is the idea of an underwater city?

Phillip Hughes Will Always Remain 63 Not Out!!!

Phillip Hughes

Three days later, It was Phillip Hughes birthday celebration, but who knew that his life has written anything else for him. Phillip was considered adept to play the bouncer ball, the same bouncer made his cause of death.

A superb innings by Phillip Hughes against South Africa couldn’t be forgettable, in his first test match, He smashed the short pitch balls of bowlers of South Africa, it felt that he is a seasoned player and Phillip were also created the fabulous fifties in this test.

Phillip Hughes was born in New South Wales. Having dreams of becoming a cricketer from an early age, Phillip was playing cricket as well as rugby also. Phillip was the youngest player from Australia, who scored all of the domestic Cup final. The 20-year-old Phillip in the second test match of his career has retained a record of making centuries in two shifts. This test match was played between South Africa and Australia in Durban in 2009.

Phillip Hughes 001

Phillip was the first Australia player, who scored his first one-day match to make the records retained and this record he made against Sri Lanka. Phillip Cricket Careers in 26 tests scored an average of nearly 1535 runs in 33 matches and in 36 one-day matches the average scored with 826 in 25 matches.

It’s so strange luck, in his career Phillip’s first century of the great 116-run innings was built in the same Sydney Cricket ground in 2008 was played during the Sheffield shield match, and this time during a Sheffield shield match on the same grounds when he was headed for another century, luck has nothing to do with them. When he’s playing on 63 runs, a short pitch ball over his head and two days after his death in the hospital.

A Sanskrit-speaking Village: Mattur, Karnataka with almost one IT professional per family!

A Sanskrit speaking village Mattur in Karnataka’s Shimoga district, India that is known for its Sanskrit-speaking residents, is a strange symbol of ancient India in modern times.

The huge statue of goddess Saraswati at the center of a courtyard of a village school and the Sanskrit signboard outside the gate is the perfect preface to this story. Kids studying at the Mattur school of Shimoga district in Karnatakaare taught the Vedas once they turn 10 and all the students who come from the village speak Sanskrit fluently. To the casual visitor, Mattur defines a perfect peaceful place, Arecanut trees and lush fields make way for a smooth road to the village, which is a cluster of simplistically finished and tightly packed concrete houses.

Mattur Karnataka India

The Sankethis a community of Brahmins that migrated from Kerala, have been living together and leading an insular way of life from the last 600 years. Daily life revolves around Sanskrit. Aham Gacchami (I am going) and other expressions in the ancient language can be heard on the street. Since the language is spoken by people wearing jeans and t-shirts or while talking over a cell phone or riding a motorbike, Mattur has become a quaint metaphor for ancient India in modern times.

Most residents of the village are happy that the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi plans to replace German with Sanskrit in CBSE schools. “Of course, children in India must necessarily study Sanskrit. The Vedas can help children lead fuller lives as they teach about how to lead a better family life, to understand the metaphysical aspect of life and so on,” says Madhukar, who resigned from his job at Cisco as a software engineer and returned to the village to set up a garments business.

Almost every house in this Brahmin village has an IT professional and many of them are working outside of India, so we can say proudly offo India! these are proud of their culture and almost every NRI makes it a point to attend rituals and festivals back home.

The crime rate is extremely low or we can say there is no crime, given that the village by itself is one long family. According to Yadu, who, like Madhukar, goes by one name and is software professional, “There is not a single property dispute pending before courts from this village. We have a culture of cohesion that has been around for generations and we have managed to keep it going”.

Bringing a guest from another caste is a Problem

It was only last year that, for the first time, a boy from one of the families here married a girl from north India. Until then, the community thrived on marrying within and, at the most, into Brahmin families from nearby areas. The local attitude towards the marriage to the ‘outsider’ is predictable: Many of the local residents are yet to come to terms with the marriage and have stopped visiting their home.

Mattur Karnataka India 2

“This family is rich and that is why they dared to break tradition. If any of us commoners were to break tradition, there would be hell to pay,” says a teacher at the school. There is also a sense of fear at the prospect of getting cut off from the rest of the society and many of the youngsters want the castebarriers lifted at the least.

In Mattur, there is a huge generation gap between the elders and the younger lot in terms of the ideal way of life to be pursued. The elders of this patriarchal society want a strict enforcement of caste norms and it is acknowledged that even today bringing a guest from another caste could be glared upon.

“I have had to face many awkward moments after I brought friends from other castes home. My mother would not like it. I understand we need to change but the elders need time. They cannot change so fast,” says an anonymous young software professional from the village. “The community is too rigid. We cannot afford to be cut off for so long,” says Prafulla MS, a Sanskrit teacher at the local school. She adds that the growing inequality between the rich and poor was also causing some consternation.

Mattur: The Land of Traditions

Mattur Karnataka India 3

“A wedding in the community lasts seven days and there are a number of other rituals and festivals that have to be observed. The rich and landed families can afford all this. What about the poor? But then many of the ceremonies are tied to spiritual beliefs that centre on the afterlife. If there is no money to conduct the rituals, this leads to strife at home,” explains Prafulla. Despite continuing frictions, both the young as well as the old believe that learning the Vedas can help people lead a better way of life.

The Mattur School has one of the best records in the district and boasts of toppers year after year. The teachers at the school say that learning Vedas and the chanting have helped children with their memory and focus. The software engineers here say their training in chanting has helped them with their academics.

Yadu, who works with Hewlett Packard, says that the daily practice of chanting was the reason for the village boasting of hundreds of software engineers. “We naturally developed an aptitude for maths and logic as well,” he said.

But while the village is clearly in awe of Sanskrit and the Vedic way of life, it appears to have no answers for the disconnect between modernity and the ancient language. Despite all the glory that the people here associate with the ancient language, there does not appear to be much of a context for its application. The elders of the village, especially, are against breaking from the tradition of any sort and frown upon “Western values”.

Technical Pursuit of Mattur

But then if one were to take a look at daily life in the village, some questions emerge that the local people are unable to answer. Just like any other place in India, Mattur thrives on modern gadgets, automobiles and appliances. The priests or Archakas wear their white robes and move around on motorbikes. Electricity flows through wires and brings to life television sets, refrigerators and other appliances.

Mattur Karnataka India 4

Everyone, including the elderly, uses mobile phones. Given that every form of technology in use at the village was discovered in the West, the inevitable question is how comfortable are they using comforts derived from modern science from the West even while assailing their culture.

Madhukar, the software engineer, ponders over the question; instead of a direct answer he talks about the significance of Sanskrit in math and ayurveda, for instance. “There was some knowledge here and that has been lost. India has a rich heritage of discoveries and inventions. But over a period of time, we have lost the scientific quest in our culture.”

The IT engineers who have experienced the world of modernity and technology say that it would be important to see Sanskrit in a different light before aggressively promoting it in schools. “Sanskrit has to be understood in its proper context first. It is a language that has contributed to the early scientific understanding of mankind and there is a need for modern research into the ancient texts so that we can get a better understanding,” says Madhukar.

Most residents of Mattur state that their reason for continuing with an insular way of life is to maintain peace and amity. “If we break tradition, then there will be strife within the community,” is the common answer ventured by youngsters.

The Twitter released an iOS 8 – iPhone twitter app friendly update last week that included a new profile design and interactive notifications.

So much so, in fact, some users seem to think the folder has been removed entirely.

In fact, there are now two ways to access your drafts in the iOS 8 Twitter app. The simplest is to hold down the compose icon in the top right corner of the app, which brings up your drafts folder, but you can also find drafts in Twitter’s main compose menu under the quill icon in the bottom right corner of the app.

You watch many Horror Movies, and you must be heard many Ghost stories. But most of you wont believe that ghosts really exist in true sense or life. Wikipedia defines ghosts as “In traditional belief and fiction, a ghost is the soul or spirit of a dead person or animal that can appear, in visible form or other manifestation, to the living.”

Top 9 Most Haunted (Ghost) Places of India:

  1. Bhangarh Fort-Rajasthan, India:

Bhangarh Fort Rajasthan India

Now we are actually talking. Bhangarh fort is the MOST haunted place in India. Bhangarh is a small town, which was established in 1613 by King Madho Singh. Bhangarh was abondoned soon after being built as it was cursed by a magician. The King ignored this and raised the palace to such a height that the shadow reached the forbidden place. Local villagers say when ever a house is built in that area, its roof collapses. It is also proved that people who stayed there after dark, NEVER RETURNED BACK! The archaeological Survey of India signboard is put up there which says “Staying after Sunset is strictly prohibited in this area”

  1. Brij Raj Bhavan Palace-Rajasthan, India:

Gostly activity is often more prevalent around children and young adults due to the amount of energy they give off. The higher your personal energy, the more spirits are able to absorb.

  1.  Delhi Cantt-Delhi, India:

Delhi Cantt India

Delhi the capital of India also have some places which are haunted. The scariest place in Delhi is Delhi Cantt area, which is full of greenery and tall trees. Most of the times, people have seen a lady with White saree asking for lift in that area. If you do not stop your vehicle, believe it or not, She will run with the same speed as of your vehicle. This story has been doing rounds for a while now.

  1.  GP Block- Meerut, India:

GP Block Meerut India

GP Block in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh has been reported as a haunted place. Though the place is not well known, on many occasions, four guys have been seen sitting inside a house with a single candle lighted and they were drinking beer. People passing from that area have repeatedly seen this sight of the boys. Some of them also saw girls in red dress coming out of the house. The house is double storied and people saw the boys sitting on the rooftop. Now no one goes to that place.

So with all these places and the incidents happened there, we suspect Ghosts may really exist. So, there is mixed opinion on the existence of ghosts, but it is not 100% proven there are ghosts. I would say fear at a fraction of seconds would lead sometime that there are ghosts. We have to cross our fingers, no other go!

I have already shared the method for How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop Update on Moto G, Now the Xiaomi brand is considered as one of the most successful mobile company in China, and they have boomed on top of the mobile device market because of competitively low priced smartphones.

According to reports, the Chinese company will soon start rolling out the operating system update for its best-selling Xiaomi Mi3 with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The rumors started when a leaked image was posted on the Chinese social media microsite Weibo, claiming that an Mi3 is already equipped with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The ROM in the image is apparently for the Mi3 WCDMA model, which can be purchased outside China, even in India also. It also showed that the reported Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Xiaomi will happen anytime soon.

Just, other mobile manufacturers announced that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is underway for some of their product lines, including LG, Motorola, and Nexus. Other Android smartphone brands like Samsung and Sony will reportedly announce their plans to roll out the latest Android OS update in the coming days.

The Xiaomi’s popular Mi3 device became one of the highly saleable Chinese mobile smartphone in India via Flipkart because of its great specifications that could compete with other leading brands.

It comes with a 5-inch, full HD touchscreen display with 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and Adreno 330 GPU. It also has a 13-megapixel rear-end primary camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing secondary camera. The smartphone currently runs on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS.

They have started to produce its smartphone products in Mainland China in August 2011, before branching out into other markets like India and Indonesia in recent years.

There is no exact release date yet for Xiaomi Mi3’s Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but rumors are claiming that it will be held soon. So guys who held this smartphone in their hand, please finger crossed for this release soon. I know you must be excited very much as I am.

Interstellar Movie Inspired by The concept of Hindu Mythology

Interstellar Poster 1024x576

After watching the movie – Interstellar, let’s you keep on thinking for a while. About time, gravity, space, galaxy, horizon and 5 dimensions. Actually abstract five-dimensional space occurs frequently in mathematics, and is a legitimate construct. Whether or not the real universe in which we live is somehow five-dimensional is a topic that is debated and explored in several branches of physics, including astrophysics and particle physics. If you love the Science then you must be a loving Interstellar movie.

Interstellar Movie Took The concept from Hindu Mythology

5 dimensions of Penteract projected

In Interstellar, there is a concept- 1 Hour on Miller planet is equal to 7 Years on Earth. Due to a technical snag, the team is forced to spend 3 hours on that planet resulting in the loss of 23 years on Earth. Which means 10 years old daughter of Hero becomes 33 years old and the hero remains of the same age.

In Hindu Mythology, once in the war between Gods & Demons, Indra took the help of (Human) king Muchukunda. King Muchukunda helped gods in the war, but the war lasted for 1 year and that was in heaven.

After the war was over, when Muchukunda expresses desire to go back to earth to meet his family, Indra tells him that 1 year in Heaven is equal to 360 years on Earth, hence his family & kingdom must have been destroyed by now with the passage of time.

Shrimad Bhagawata Gita (9-3-27 to 36) gives a story that king Kakudmi went with his daughter Revati to the Brahmaloka (Another planet) to find her a husband.

They spent some seconds there, but during those seconds, about 216 years passed on the Earth.

They returned after 216 years, but still Rewati was in puberty and her father was alive. Aging factor had stopped working on them. After their return, they could not see their descendants, so at least 216 years had passed.

Cranky Old Man: Heart Touching Nurse Poem

When an cranky old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, they found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old man’s sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this ‘anonymous’ poem winging across the Internet.

Cranky Old Man

nursing home poem old man compassion inspiration motivation humanity charity

What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?

What are you thinking .. . when you’re looking at me?

A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,

Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food .. . … . . and makes no reply.

When you say in a loud voice . .’I do wish you’d try!’

Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.

And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not . . . … lets you do as you will,

With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?

Is that what you’re thinking?. .Is that what you see?

Then open your eyes, nurse .you‘re not looking at me.

I’ll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,

As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.

I‘m a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,

Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet

Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he‘ll meet.

A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.

Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.

Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.

A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,

Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,

But my woman is beside me . . to see I don’t mourn.

At Fifty, once more, .. Babies play ’round my knee,

Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.

I look at the future … . . . . I shudder with dread.

For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own.

And I think of the years . . . And the love that I’ve known.

I’m now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.

It’s jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool.

The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigour, depart.

There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,

And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells

I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain.

And I’m loving and living . . . . . . . life over again.

I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast.

And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.

So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see.

Not a cranky old man .

Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. …. . ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within. We will all, one day, be there, too!

The best and most beautiful things of this world can’t be seen or touched. The heart must feel them!

Please share this poem and share your thoughts in the comments.

India, The Rising Star: Economy Likely to Grow 6.4% In 2015

Since taking charge of India, the Modi govt has unveiled several policy changes such as deregulating diesel prices, linking gas prices to global benchmarks, amendments to labor policies, steps to end the ‘inspector raj’ and cutting red tape for businesses. It’s expected to unveil further reforms in the months ahead.

Modi Economy growth

According to the latest report released by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), India’s economy will start picking up from next year onwards…

Growth Forecast

  • The Indian economy will expand at 6.4 per cent next year compared to 5.9 per cent estimated less than two months back in its September 2014 interim outlook.

  • According to OECD, the country could be within striking distance of China by 2016 in terms of the pace of growth with that country, expected to slow down in the years ahead.

  • India’s growth is projected to rise to 6.6 per cent in 2016 while China will slow to 6.9 per cent by that year.

  • The outlook also projects inflation to head lower.

What About Global Economy

  • The organization projects that the global economy will expand 3.3 per cent in 2014, and recover gradually to 3.7 per cent in 2015, and 3.9 per cent in 2016.

  • Among the major advanced economies, recovery remains robust in the United States, which is projected to grow by 2.2 per cent in 2014 and around 3 per cent in 2015 and 2016.

  • Growth in the euro area is expected to pick up slowly, from 0.8 per cent in 2014 to 1.1 percent in 2015 and 1.7 per cent in 2016.

  • Similarly, in Japan, growth will continue to be impacted by consumption tax hikes, and is expected to be 0.9 per cent in 2014, 1.1 per cent in 2015 and 0.8 per cent in 2016.

India is the only economy where growth will occur exponentially because:

  1. The Pace of reforms has picked up after Narendra Modi government assumed office in May 2014.

  2. Investment will be the main growth engine.

  3. Improved Business Sentiment on the rise, thanks to reduced political uncertainty.

  4. DEREGULATION and government commitment to cut red tape will boost the growth.

  5. INFLATION is expected to continue to drift down.

How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop Update on Moto G 2014 [OTA Zip]

Android 5.0 Lollipop: When is it coming to my phone or tablet?

Moto G 2014 wi fi gets official android 5 0 lollipop lrx21p update via factory image how

Motorola will commence the Android 5.0 Lollipop soak test for the Moto G today. Motorola was always going to be one of the fastest to offer Android Lollipop after the Nexus and Google Play devices. That was the case with Android 4.4 KitKit, thanks to Motorola’s devices being close to the stock Android experience.

According to Motorola Blog, the company confirmed: “Once Android 5.0 L is officially released, we intend to bring this latest upgrade to many of our other Motorola devices, as well. This includes Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini.”

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update has started to roll it out to the Moto G and Moto X pure edition already.

Moto G Lollipop Update

Motorola has also updated its updates page so you can see if you’ll be eligible, however this only applies to the US.

How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop on Moto G 2014 via OTA Zip[XT1063 and XT1064]

Moto G users are in for some decent news, as Moto G 2014 XT1063 and XT1064 can now be updated manually to Android 5.0 Lollipop via OTA zip files.

Those who missed the official OTA update notification can now install the same manually, using the step-by-step guide given below.

The catch here is that you must be running a stock Android KitKat firmware without root, and bootloader must be locked, else you might risk bricking your device.

Moto G XT1063 and XT1064 users can still return their device to stock settings and attempt installing the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update by following the steps provided in this guide.

Although, it is not assured that the procedure will work if your device is already rooted with its bootloader unlocked.

IBTimes UK reminds readers that it will not be liable for any damage to device during or after the Lollipop OTA firmware installation. Users are advised to proceed at their own risk.

Downloads Required

Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA for Moto G 2014 (XT1063 and XT1064)

Prerequisites

  • The instructions and the OTA zip files provided in this guide are meant for Moto G 2014 devices with model numbers XT1063 and XT1064 only. Do not attempt installing this firmware on any other model or you may risk bricking the device.

  • Ensure the device has more than 60% battery charge to prevent unexpected device shutdown leading to corrupt partitions, during the OTA firmware installation.

  • Backup important data and settings on the device before you proceed.

  • Copy the downloaded OTA files to your phone’s internal SD card.

Steps to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA Zip on Moto G 2014 XT1063 and XT1064

  • Power off the phone and wait for a few seconds until it shuts down completely.

  • Press and hold Volume UpVolume Down and Power keys together until the bootloader or the recovery mode screen appears.

  • Hit the Volume Down key to highlight the Recovery option and then select it by tapping the Volume Up key.

  • A warning Android logo will appear in the middle of the screen.

  • Tap the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons for around 5 seconds. Now, while holding the two buttons, press and release the Power

  • Your device will now boot into stock recovery mode and display “Android System Recovery” at the top of the screen.

  • Next, select “apply update from sdcard

  • Then go to the downloaded file and select it.

  • Wait for the installation to complete and follow onscreen prompts to reboot the phone.

Miserably, Motorola’s customer support representative didn’t pinpoint a date when the official update of Android 5.0 Lollipop will start rolling out to everyone with a Moto G. In any case, the smoother the soak test goes, the sooner the update will launch. Fingers crossed.
